The post holder will work with a consultant psychiatrist and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide care to adults between 18 and 65 with a primary diagnosis of mental illness. The specialty doctor will be based at an inpatient rehabilitation service.General Duties 1. Undertake clinical audits. 2. Contribute to Clinical Governance meetings. 3. Such additional or other duties as we may at any time from time to time require you to undertake to meet the needs of the Group. 4. Work within the Active Care Programme. Clinical 5. Assess all patients by completing a thorough history and examination including physical examination. Responsible for the completion of necessary CPA, Managers Panels and Mental Health Tribunal reports in conjunction with the consultant. 1. psychiatrist. 2. Liaise with referring consultant psychiatrists or other clinical staff involved in patients’ care. 3. Attend care programme approach meetings, ward rounds, managers panels, mental health review tribunals and multidisciplinary care planning meetings. 4. Facilitation of internal outpatients clinic weekly. 5. To prescribe and review medication under the supervision of the relevant consultant psychiatrist. 6. Initiating treatment plans using the care programme approach and good medical practice within the MDT setting, ensuring effective use of resources and the updating of plans within agreed time limits. 7. Responsible for coordinating the smooth flow of care from admission to discharge. 8. Maintain and monitor standards of care in line with our principles and vision statement and the guidelines set out by the GMC and the Royal College of Psychiatrists. 9. Facilitation of internal outpatients clinic weekly. 10. To prescribe and review medication under the supervision of the relevant consultant psychiatrist. 11.
