Do you want the opportunity to work in one of the UK's busiest teaching hospitals with over 1.5 million patient contacts a year and more than 13,000 staff?

Our client is now looking for a dedicated Consultant in Acute/General Medicine to continue the development of a comprehensive 7/7 Acute Medicine Service with the expansion of same day emergency care supported by clinically lead pathway design.

This hospital is based in Greater London with fantastic transport links, excellent schools and beautiful historic buildings.

The post holder will have the following:

• Registerable medical qualification
• Full specialist registration with the General Medical Council (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)
• MRCP or equivalent
• Wide experience in all aspects of General Medicine, culminating in award of CCT or equivalent in Acute Medicine or General Medicine
• Experience in day to day organisation of acute medicine services in a busy Teaching Hospital
• Able to demonstrate leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience of clinical research
• Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit. Must have undertaken and completed audit projects

Additional information

• There will be a minimum of 10 programmed activities; 8.5 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with 1.5 Programmed Activity being allocated for Supporting Professional Activities (basic CPD/departmental, governance meeting/ES role)

• The appropriate supplement will be paid for any oncall commitment.

• The job plan is based on the provision of a Consultant delivered service seven days a week and into the evening in accordance with principles of Acute Medicine endorsed by the Royal College of Physicians and NHS England (London)

• The weekend/ on-call/ out-of-hours commitment is evolving as the establishment is increased. It currently by rotation includes extended hours Monday to Friday, planned attendance at weekends to cover the Ambulatory Care Unit and a contribution to the overnight on-call rota.
