We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Specialty Doctor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.

Our client are is a health & social care organisation dedicated to providing high quality care with compassion to improve the health & wellbeing of the people we care for, as well as supporting & empowering them to lead a fulfilling life. Our clinical teams deliver many NHS services not only via inpatient and primary care setting but also with the community. These services include Children, Adult & Older Peoples mental health, Forensic & Specialist mental health, Learning Disabilities, Primary Care & Liaison psychiatry, Substance misuse, Social care, Research & Development. The appointee, in collaboration with multi-disciplinary CAMHS colleagues to deliver effective, efficient, evidence-based care to children, young people, and families, in the field of adolescent mental health and to support rapid discharge from inpatient care and ongoing treatment in the CPFT Home Treatment Team.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as: The post holders work flexibly with The Darwin Centre for three days a week and the home treatment team two days a week with particular focus on supporting the discharge of patients, particularly those moving to the Home Treatment team and supporting the home treatment team consultant with medical monitoring of patients in the HTT. The clinical role is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment of children and young people admitted to the Darwin Centre and the Home Treatment Team. The post-holder will be supervised and supported by the Consultant doctors in each service. Work alongside team colleagues to address any safeguarding needs that arise in accordance with local and national best practice standards. Ensure effective and timely documentation of clinical decision-making and care plans. Comply with the Trusts governance policy including participating in supervision, clinical audit, annual appraisal, and re-validation with the General Medical Council. There is no out-of-hours or daytime on-call commitment within the post. The post holder will be part of cross cover rotas with other doctors when necessary across the Tier 4 units and home treatment team, for example during periods of leave or emergency situations & participation in clinical governance activities associated with patient care and smooth running of the service including prescription management, Care planning documentation and the collection of routine data and outcome monitoring as specified by the Directorate Management Team
