We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Haematology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Haematology department.

The successful appointee will be joining a department, where the appointee will be expected to undertake various duties within the department. These include: the provision, with Consultant colleagues, of a comprehensive in-patient and out-patient service in Clinical Haematology, any responsibilities relating to the special interest of the appointee, share responsibility for professional standards and quality control in the laboratory, ensuring compliance of standards to satisfy United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), participate in business planning in collaboration with the other Consultant Haematologists, administrative duties will include those associated with the clinical care of patients and those associated with the area of interest within the laboratory and as defined by the Head of Service, Out of hours responsibility will be shared equally with the other consultants and will include laboratory, transfusion and clinical cover. This will be on a rota of 1 in 4 weekends and usually one weekday overnight per week, appointee will be expected to participate in the monthly laboratory seminars, which are accredited for CPD for the laboratory staff, and in the weekly medical division educational programme, appointee will be required to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training and will be responsible for achieving accreditation as required & appointee will take an active part in clinical audit within the department and will be expected to contribute to the production of relevant clinical guidelines.

Our client's location is based in the midlands where they'll have access to excellent public and private schools along with reasonable house prices & excellent railway and motorway links to major cities such as Birmingham and London with very close distance from an international airport.
