We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Care of the Elderly on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful department.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, such as: The appointee will be responsible for the development of Care of the Elderly services along with their colleagues. The key objectives are to reduce number of unnecessary admissions, develop same day emergency care pathways for the frail elderly, reduce patient length stay and work with system partners to ensure safe discharge to appropriate places of residence, There will be a strong commitment to teaching Junior Staff the principles of management of elderly patients, this will occur as the opportunity arises on a day to day basis with acute patients, as well as dedicated teaching, the opportunity to undertake specialty clinics and will be discussed on your appointment, they are particularly interested in candidates who are keen to develop the inpatient frailty services, ortho geriatrics, fracture liaison or dementia services, post holder will be expected to undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients and running their clinical department & The Consultant will take an active part in the department clinical governance and audit arrangements
