We are now inviting applications for a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a thriving and progressive GI Unit – a service that brings together gastroenterology, upper GI and colorectal surgery, emergency general surgery, and endoscopy under one ambitious and cohesive structure.
Our NHS Client will also consider a Locum Consultant for a Fixed Term Contract with an option to go substantive.
About the Role
You will be joining a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team to deliver a fully integrated digestive diseases service to the region. The department supports both emergency and elective care, providing holistic treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- General and sub-specialty outpatient clinics
- Endoscopy sessions (upper and lower GI) at our dedicated suite
I- nvolvement in acute gastroenterology care on a 2-in-12 basis, including, ward rounds, upper GI bleed cover (in-hours) and inpatient referrals and collaborative care with medical teams
- Teaching of medical students and trainees
- Clinical governance, annual appraisal, and service improvement
They actively welcome subspecialty interests including (but not limited to) hepatology, IBD, ERCP, and therapeutic endoscopy. All areas are open for development and they encourage candidates with a passion for service innovation.
