Triple West Medical have been appointed by an NHS Health Board based in South Scotland to help recruit a Consultant Rheumatologist for a substantive post.
They pride themselves on being a close-knit, forward-thinking Health Board that puts people first — the patients and staff alike. They are now seeking a Consultant Rheumatologist to join the dynamic team of clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals, providing high-quality rheumatology and general medical care across the region.
Why Join

About the Role
As a Consultant in Rheumatology, you'll play a key role in delivering and developing the growing outpatient and day-case services, alongside the dedicated team of clinicians, nurse specialists, and allied health professionals.
You'll work primarily at the main hospital site, providing outpatient clinics, inpatient support, and specialist input in rheumatology. Subspecialty interests such as connective tissue disease, giant cell arteritis, osteoporosis, and musculoskeletal ultrasound are encouraged and supported. Their biologics service, active since 1999, currently manages over 300 patients and continues to expand.
There are close links with tertiary centres in Edinburgh and Glasgow, ensuring seamless collaboration for complex cases. Opportunities to contribute to clinical audit, research and service innovation are strongly supported, with help from our local R&D department.
In addition to your rheumatology commitments, there is the option to contribute to the general medicine on-call rota (currently 1:12 with prospective cover).
