Triple West Medical has been appointed by an NHS Trust based in the Essex area to help recruit an Oncology Specialty Doctor on a fixed term contract for at least 12 months.

The Role

As a Specialty Doctor in Oncology, you'll play a key role within the Cancer Division, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate care for patients across the region

You will

- Provide oncological care and advice in collaboration with consultants and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
- Participate in Acute Oncology Services, outpatient clinics, and chemotherapy units.
- Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings (MDTs) to optimise patient management.
- Support consultant-led clinics and provide cover for colleagues as required.
- Engage in clinical audit, education, and research to maintain and enhance standards of care.
- Teach and supervise junior medical staff and students, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

The Oncology Services

The Oncology Service is delivered across three hospital sites, with the Cancer Centre based at a one of the main sites that offers comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, SACT, and radiotherapy services supported by modern infrastructure including:

- State-of-the-art Chemotherapy Treatment Units at 2 sites
- A Radiotherapy Department equipped with Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators, HDR Brachytherapy, AI auto-contouring, and cutting-edge treatment planning systems.
- Active programmes in Stereotactic Radiotherapy (SABR), VMAT, IGRT, and Brachytherapy.

You'll join a vibrant oncology workforce comprising consultants, specialty doctors, clinical and medical oncology trainees, and clinical fellows — all committed to advancing cancer care in the local region.

What We're Looking For

- MBBS (or equivalent) qualified and fully registered with the GMC.
- Have at least four years' postgraduate training, including at least two years within an oncology or related specialty.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care with compassion and professionalism.
- Strong communicators with effective multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Enthusiastic teachers and lifelong learners who thrive in a fast-evolving clinical environment.

A higher qualification or UK oncology examination is desirable but not essential — we're equally keen to hear from talented doctors looking to expand their oncology experience.
