Triple West Medical are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking substantive Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in Cataract Surgery to join a dynamic and patient-centred NHS service based in South West Scotland.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver high-volume, high-quality cataract surgery with excellent clinical outcomes
- Contribute to the provision of comprehensive general ophthalmology services
- Participate in outpatient, theatre, and on-call commitments
- Support service development, innovation, and pathway redesign
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Play an active role in teaching and supervision of trainees and multidisciplinary colleagues
There is scope to develop subspecialty interests in line with service needs.
The Department
The Ophthalmology service provides a comprehensive range of secondary care treatments within modern facilities. They benefit from:

The Candidate
Applicants must:
- Hold full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- Be on the Specialist Register for Ophthalmology (or within six months of CCT at time of interview)
- Demonstrate strong competency in modern cataract surgical techniques
- Show evidence of audit, quality improvement, and service development
- Possess excellent communication and teamworking skills
- A track record of high-volume cataract surgery with strong outcomes data is desirable.
