Locum Consultant General Surgeon - FTC

Triple West Medical is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant General Surgeon to join a supportive and forward-thinking surgical team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in East of England.

This post has been created to support the continued development of the General Surgery service, delivering high-quality elective and emergency surgical care to patients across the local region.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive general surgical service, including inpatient, outpatient and elective theatre activity, and will participate in a 1:9 on-call rota for emergency general surgery.

The role includes:

- Outpatient clinics and elective surgical activity
- Theatre and day surgery sessions
- Participation in emergency surgical care
- Teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students
- Involvement in clinical governance, audit and service development

You will work alongside experienced consultants within a multidisciplinary team supported by specialty doctors, registrars, junior doctors and specialist nursing staff.

Based in the historic market town, the hospital benefits from excellent rail links to nearby major locations and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastline.

Requirements

Applicants must have:
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise
- FRCS or equivalent
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR)
- Experience in elective and emergency general surgery
