We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Histopathology on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful A&E department.

The appointee will be joining our client, who are England's largest NHS Trust with a turnover of £1.8bn and is on a different scale than most other NHS Trusts. We're creating the most exceptional integrated health and social care system for the 1 million patients who rely on our services every year. They are also one of the major academic research centres and education providers in England and Research and Innovation is the heart of all they do, providing you with a robust infrastructure to encourage and facilitate high-quality research programmes. We're also excited to be embarking on our new Green Plan which will set out how they continue to play its part in making healthcare more sustainable and tackling climate change.

The successful appointee will be asked to fulfil various responsibilities within the department, these include: to be responsible for providing sub-specialised histopathology and cytopathology services (required in certain specialties only) for its clinical users. This may include review of histopathology and cytopathology of patient, appointee will participate in cancer multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) in line with their areas of subspecialisation, Full commitment to the quality of service via the Quality Management System and conformity with the UKAS standards (ISO 15189), Areas of current primary need include breast, urological, gastrointestinal and skin pathology, Are required to participate in subspecialist EQA schemes relevant to the subspecialties in which they practice , will be encouraged to participate in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching and training & other allied health professionals & are expected to participate in both internal and external Continuing Professional Development (CPD), External Quality Assurance (EQA) and Clinical Audit.
