Triple West Medical are working with a high-performing NHS mental health provider on the South Coast to recruit an Inpatient Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for a well-established Tier 4 CAMHS service. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a progressive, well-resourced inpatient unit at a time of major service development, including the planned opening of a new CAMHS Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

The Opportunity

The role is based within a specialist adolescent inpatient unit supporting young people aged 12–18 with complex mental health needs. You will work alongside another substantive Consultant and a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a supportive and collaborative environment.
In addition to core inpatient responsibilities, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping new Tier 4 provision, with the option to move into a dedicated PICU Consultant role once the new unit becomes operational.

Key Responsibilities

- Clinical leadership for adolescent inpatients with complex presentations
- Acting as Approved Clinician and maintaining Section 12(2) approval
- Consultant-level assessment, formulation, treatment planning and risk management
- Close collaboration with community CAMHS, crisis and regional inpatient services
- Supervision and support of junior medical staff and MDT colleagues
- Active involvement in service development, governance and quality improvement

About You

You will be:
- GMC registered with a licence to practice
- On (or eligible for) the Specialist Register in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Section 12 approved and an Approved Clinician
- An experienced CAMHS psychiatrist with a collaborative leadership style
- Motivated to contribute to service innovation and high-quality inpatient care
